    Dr Philip Temple is the author of more than 30 fiction, non-fiction and children's titles. He has won a number of awards and fellowships, including the Katherine Mansfield Fellowship (1979), Robert Burns Fellowship (1980), National Library Fellowship (1996-1997) and the Creative NZ Berlin Writers Residency (2003-2004). He was honoured with an ONZM for his services to literature in 2004 and a Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement in 2005. Philip has been a member of PEN and NZSA since 1970 and has held the offices of vice-president, president, chair of the Otago-Southland Branch and represented NZSA on such groups as the Authors Fund Advisory Committee and the Burns Fellowship Selection Committee. He has had a long-term commitment to the Authors Fund and its successor the Public Lending Right. He was the first chair of the Public Lending Right Advisory Group for the National Library.www.philiptemple.com
