International Federation of Journalists

The New Zealand PEN Centre is affiliated to International PEN and works on behalf of writers everywhere whose freedoms of speech and expression are threatened.
The Writers in Prison Committee (WiP) writes hundreds of letters each year supporting writers who have been imprisoned for expressing their views.
The New Zealand PEN centre constantly monitors legislation and the media for instances where freedoms of speech and expression are under threat in New Zealand. The Centre makes submissions to government on these issues when necessary.
