Welcome to the NZSA page about digital publishing. This is a field which is changing quickly, and is of enormous importance to all writers. All of us, as writers, publishers and editors, will be affected in some way by digital publishing. To help keep you up-to-date with developments in this area, we are devoting this page to information about what is happening in the world of digital publishing.

Supplemental Notice in Google Book Search Settlement »

The Google Book Search Settlement still applies to NZ authors whose books have been published in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. The New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc.) remains concerned at how the settlement impacts on those authors. Publication of the Supplemental Notice herewith in no way indicates that our original objection against the Settlement does not stand.  Members who are still affected are entitled and need to make up their own minds, and therefore as a service to our members and the wider author and publisher community we are publishing the notice. The New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc.) makes no comment on its content or on whether it is sufficient notice for the purposes of the US class action rules.

Google Books

The Google Books settlement is an issue that all writers need to be aware of. We will be putting the latest news and articles about this issue on this page.
