GOLDEN BAY LIVE POETS
Golden Bay Live Poets meet monthly at The Mussel Inn, Onekaka. Their next meeting on Thursday 21 March at 7 pm features guest poet Lindsay Pope.
In 2009 Lindsay completed a masters degree in creative writing at Victoria University. His poetry has appeared in many New Zealand and international publications and online literary journals. Headwinds, his first book of poetry, was published in 2014. Ashleigh Young has written that his poems ‘are full of warmth and wryness and harsh morning light. Lindsay Pope is the scratchy cardigan of New Zealand poetry.’
In 2018 he published two further books of verse. The first, Badly Wolf, is an adult’s romp where in ten episodes he engages with familiar characters from children’s fiction. His second, Furthersouth, are poems influenced by the
human history of the Auckland Islands.
Everyone is welcome to attend or participate. Bring a poem to share, or just enjoy the show. Singer-songwriters are also welcome. Gold coin koha entry. For further information please contact Sacha Horton at 021 044 4294 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
