Penelope Newman’s writing for children has been produced in 30 New Zealand Stories for Children, published by Random House, as well as the New Zealand School Journal and Learning Media’s First Stories series. Penny is also an experienced designer and illustrator. She has worked in publishing environments both freelancing and as an employee. Penny illustrated and designed extensively for publications such as The New Zealand School Journal, as well as producing work for publishers such as Thomas Nelson Australia, Scholastic New Zealand, and Mallinson Rendel. She has also been a contract senior tutor for Massey University, teaching drawing. Penny is based in Wellington, NZ.
