Auckland poet Dominic Hoey, aka ‘Tourettes’, is the guest at the next meeting of Golden Bay Live Poets at the Mussel Inn on Thursday 18 May.

Dominic has released five critically acclaimed studio albums, two books of poetry and four short films. He has recently returned from an artist’s residency in Rarotonga, working on a one-man show, a dark comedy about living with Autoimmune Disease. His first novel, Iceland, completed during a 2012 artist’s residency in Iceland, is due to be published in June this year with Steel Roberts.

Local musician Dan Antell will open the evening at 7.30 pm. The first open mic session runs from 7.45 pm, and after a short break ‘Tourettes’ will perform from 8.30 to 9 pm. There will be another break, then the second open mic session from 9.15 pm. The MCs for the night will be newly-back-in-the-bay Mudwood, who may even back up Dan Antell!

Open mic poets and singers can register on the night, or pre-register by emailing Rose at Koha entry.
