The Otago/Southland region covers a large geographical area. Our members are widespread which makes meetings and events a challenge. Business meetings are irregular, but a writers Salon is held on a regular basis. Contact the branch for more information.
Write On – our regular community radio programme for writers, hosted by Vanda Symon, airs from 12-1pm on the second Wednesday of each month. http://www.oar.org.nz/write-on
Much of our activity is centred in Dunedin where we are hugely supported by Dunedin Public Libraries, University Book Shop, Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival and Dunedin City Council through the UNESCO City of Literature programme. These links make creative collaborations possible. Our writers work with artists, musicians, dancers, photographers, museums and community groups to expand the cultural richness of the region.
