National Writers Forum September 21-23, 2018

NZSA National Writers Forum Friday September 21 – Sunday September 23, 2018

The National Writers Forum 2018  is the key biennial event run by the NZ Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc) Te Puni Kaituhi o Aotearoa, that brings together writers, editors, publishers and practitioners from across the literary arts sector and writing communities to learn, share, re-energise and improve our collective skill base.

A variety of lively and practical sessions discuss issues around writing and publishing, covering themes of cultural voice and inclusion, renewal of the arts economy, deep-craft across many genres, the literary scene and the future of publishing.

NWF’18  is for people who write and illustrate fiction, graphic novels, poetry, prose, flash-fiction, journalists, non-fiction writers, writers for children and young adults, bloggers, translators and authors working in other community languages and te Reo, academic and educational writers and all those who are part of the literary arts creative sector.

It is a forum that will give you the opportunity to network and discuss the craft of writing as well as self-publishing, production, marketing, editing, design, bookselling, design, agents, funding, publicity, licensing bodies, distributors, publicists and printers as well as ways in which writers can monetise their work.

Others showcase their services to our sector and NWF ’18 will hold two key events on the arts calendar: the announcement of the CLNZ annual Writer’s Prize and the NZSA President of Honour, annual Janet Frame Memorial Lecture.

Venue: Owen Glenn Building. University of Auckland Business School. 12 Grafton Rd, Auckland Central.

Friday September 21st 7.00pm – Sunday September 23rd 4.00pm
