The Hachette Mentoring Program gives one writer an opportunity to work on a new draft of their completed manuscript under the mentorship of Hachette Publishing Australia.

The mentorship:

  • The mentorship will be personalised for the selected candidate, however it will always consist of structural notes provided by the Publisher, up to 5 Skype or telephone calls as needed, and email correspondences.
  • The Mentorship will begin in 2019 and will end as agreed between the publisher and the chosen candidate but is to be completed 12 months after the mentorship start date.
  • This mentorship is with a busy international publishing house and it is important that mentees have realistic expectations about the time it will take for structural notes and feedback to be provided. This is the reason the mentorship runs for 12 months.

The selected manuscript may be considered by Hachette for publication within 6 months of delivery of a new draft of the manuscript, but publication is not guaranteed.
