Where Do You Go To

‘Where do you go to’ is the award winning debut novel by Jean Cerfontaine. Accept an invitation to follow the epic life story of the orphan Marie-Claire as she travels through Europe in the 50s and 60s.

Join in her beautiful journey as the adopted daughter of a French diplomat, exploring life and discovering talents for dance and art. Her travels are described in beautiful prose, sharing her trials and tribulations through the glorious vista that is mid-century Europe. As she rubs shoulders with the rich and famous in Paris, Rome, St Moritz, Moscow and the French Riviera, the burning question of her unknown roots remains unsolved. Who is she?

Will the mystery of her origins remain obscured, or will Marie-Claire finally uncover the truth behind her morning tears? Inspired by the famous Peter Sarstedt song, ‘Where do you go to’ is a classic tale, 50 years in the making.
