Rochelle Maroon

Rochelle Maroon is an author, artist and illustrator. She had her first freelance feature article published in the NZ Listener when she was 18 and worked as a journalist before becoming a YA and children's book editor. She worked on many award-winning New Zealand children's books.

After starting a family she wrote her first picture book for children, I Know About Babies . Later, she completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Design. She was the winner of two student awards for exhibitions in a public gallery and received a mentorship from NZSA with Gavin Bishop for a children's picture book project. Her painting and prints have been exhibited in shows at public and private galleries in the USA and New Zealand. The Talent Game her first children's novel for middle readers was published in 2023.

Rochelle works as a communications consultant.
