Verb is delighted to share that Una Cruickshank has been awarded the 2026 Verb Wellington Writer’s Residency at Katherine Mansfield House!
Una Cruickshank is a creative nonfiction writer from Pōneke Wellington, who likes to write about intersections between luxury goods, capitalism and natural history. She is the author of The Chthonic Cycle, which won the E.H. McCormick Prize for Best First Book at the 2025 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards, and is now working on her second essay collection, Beware of Mirrors.
She is very grateful to have been chosen for the 2026 Verb Wellington Writer’s Residency, and her time at the Katherine Mansfield House will be spent intensely researching and writing the new book.
