NZSA appoints new PLR Reps

 

The Board is pleased to announce our new PLR Advisory Group representatives are Anna Mackenzie (Chair) and Sherryl Clark:

Anna McKenzie is an award-winning writer of contemporary, historic, and speculative long-form fiction, and teaches creative writing at secondary and tertiary level, and in the community. She spent a decade working for writers’ rights on the Board of NZSA and has an abiding interest in ensuring New Zealand writers can build sustainable careers. Anna’s work has earned her seven Storyline Notable Book Awards, an NZ Post Honour Award, a Sir Julius Vogel Award, and a White Raven selection. In addition to writing fiction, she edits magazines and has just produced two NZSA Writer Toolkit modules on editing.

 

 

Sherryl Clark is a trans-Tasman writer who has returned to live in Aotearoa.  She is the author of over 70 books for children and YA, as well as three adult crime novels. Her children’s verse novel, “Mina and the Whole Wide World” won the Australian Prime Minister’s Literary Award for a children’s book in 2022. Sherryl has also won the NSW Premiers Patricia Wrightson Prize for a Children’s Book, CBC Honours, and was shortlisted for the Ngaio Marsh Awards.  After 23 years of teaching writing, she now works as a freelance editor and writer. Sherryl has experience with ASA and their PLR/ELR and digital lending rights advocacy in Australia and we warmly welcome her expertise.
