Top of the South Branch
The Top of the South branch can lay claim to some of the best weather and inspiring landscapes in its wide geographical area, ranging from Marlborough to the West Coast and including Nelson, Tasman and Golden Bay. It was established in 2005 and has more than 100 members.
Members receive a monthly newsletter, and the branch has a website providing access to news and events, local writing groups, and resources for writers. There are regular social events, talks and workshops spread around the region.
The branch co-ordinates and sponsors Te Tauihu Short Story Awards as an annual competition accepting submissions in New Zealand’s two official written languages: English and Māori.
