Frame grew up in a modest cottage at 56 Eden St, Ōamaru. The house is now a Janet Frame Museum. We want to turn the property’s garage into a stunning contemporary visitor centre that will celebrate Frame’s work and tell her incredible story. The campaign features on TVNZ One News Sunday July 9 with a behind-the-scenes look at how the quince tree in Janet Frame’s backyard is helping to *preserve* her memory.
Bearing the signatures of filmmaker Jane Campion, former PM Helen Clark, and musician Shayne Carter, a one-of-a-kind jar quince jelly is being auctioned off as part of the campaign launch Here. Does someone in your life deserve a taste of genius?
Please help share Frame’s brilliance and celebrate her courageous story, set in Ōamaru, Aotearoa, her kingdom by the sea.
