Cloud Ink Press is now open to submissions for 2024

Cloud Ink Press is now open to considering submissions of adult or young adult fiction from New Zealand writers who are citizens or permanent residents – until 20 February 2024.

We are looking to publish novels which have a New Zealand flavour but will also consider other genres such as memoir and speculative fiction.

Cloud Ink operates as an independent publishing company, on a not-for-profit basis, and our authors are expected to contribute to the publishing process of their own book in terms of finance and expertise. We also encourage new authors to support future authors on an on-going basis to publish and market their books.

Please submit only one manuscript at a time. The manuscript should have been assessed by a professional assessor. Include a cover letter with your full contact details, short bio, one-page synopsis and the first three chapters (or up to 30 pages) of your manuscript. Please submit all materials in a single Word document (.doc or .docx) with the title of your work in the subject line. We prefer 1.5 or double line spacing, and Times New Roman or other simple, clear font.

If we want to read the full manuscript, we will contact you, and if not you will be advised via email when your submission has been considered. It may take up to three months for us to get back to you. Please note that we are unable to provide individual editorial advice on these first submissions.
