We are writing to invite you to Tadra Vata, a literary series of ideas produced by Studio Kiin as part of NZ Fringe. This program is supported by NZ Fringe and Creative NZ.

Tadra Vata is a space for the dreaming that happens in the company of others—the visions shared in conversation and the insights that emerge when we think together. In this series, the literary landscape is mapped through the depth of our relationships and the strength of our collective practice.

Our 2026 theme, ‘Beyond Islands, Beyond Borders,’ explores the spaces that both connect and separate us featuring Tīhema Baker, Tagi Qolouvaki, Emelihter Kihleng, Makanaka Tuwe, Gina Cole, Story Hemi-Morehouse, Hana Buchanan, Elsie Andrewes, Emele Ugavule and more. Whether you are an established voice who has shaped our literary history or an emerging writer or illustrator mapping new horizons, Tadra Vata is a meeting place where we vision things differently, together.

As a ticketed series, your attendance directly supports the creative sovereignty of the writers and illustrators involved. We have created several ways to join us across the week:
