LIVE POETS IN NELSON AND GOLDEN BAY

The next meetings of both the Nelson and Golden Bay Live Poets feature guest poet David Eggleton to start another fabulous year of poetry events in the region.

David Eggleton is a poet, writer, recording artist, arts journalist and film maker. He has had seven books of poems and a book of short fiction published, as well as a number of works of non-fiction about the arts in New Zealand. He became the editor of Landfall magazine in 2010.

Nelson Live Poets on Wednesday 17 February begins with the evening’s featured musician, Hone Simpson, at 6.45 pm. The first open mic session begins at 7 pm and there will be a break at 7.30 pm, with guest poet David Eggleton appearing at 7.45 pm. After another break at 8.15 pm, the second open mic session is from 8.30 pm. The venue for Nelson Live Poets is the Yurt at the Free House, Collingwood Street. Koha entry with a drink from the bar. Golden Bay Live Poets meeting on Thursday 18 February kicks off with music from Jersey Bob. An open mic session follows, and the guest poet takes the stage around 8.15 pm. After a break, the second open mic session will roll from 9.15 pm. The venue for GB Live Poets is the famous Mussel Inn at Onekaka, Golden Bay. Koha entry.
