The New Zealand Poetry Society’s Annual International Poetry Competition

The New Zealand Poetry Society’s annual International Poetry Competition, Verse and Haiku, is now under way, including Open and Junior Sections for both forms. The Open Junior and Haiku Junior sections are for students who are 17 years of age or younger on 31st May 2016, and are further divided into primary/ intermediate and secondary sub-sections.

There are cash prizes, and the winning poems and other selected entries will appear in the New Zealand Poetry Society’s annual anthology in November 2016.

This year’s judges are:

Cynthia Rowe (Australia) – Open Haiku

Majella Cullinane (Kapiti) – Junior Verse

Harry Frentz (Tauranga) – Junior Haiku
