Perfect Online Pitch: Auckland University Press

For the application you will be asked:

  • Name
  • Email
  • NZSA membership number
  • Manuscript title
  • Confirmation your manuscript meets what the publisher is looking for
  • 300 word manuscript synopsis – we recommend you have this polished and prepared in a Word doc or similar to copy and paste into the field
  • Confirmation you can attend the time and date, and that the manuscript meets all the criteria of the Perfect Online Pitch programme (has not been  submitted to the publisher before, has not already been published, is ready to submit, and is your own original work, authored by humans)

They are looking for books for adult readers only. As an academic publisher, authors must demonstrate an authority to write on the topic.

Auckland University Press welcomes pitches in the following non-fiction genres only (books written in te reo Māori in these genres are welcome):

 

  • Non-fiction: general
  • Non-fiction: art and architecture
  • Non-fiction: biography
  • Non-fiction: illustrated
  • Non-fiction: business
  • Non-fiction: culture
  • Non-fiction: contemporary issues (i.e. bullying, social media, climate change)
  • Non-fiction: nature
  • Non-fiction: te ao Māori

Perfect Online Pitch will open on 9am 03 August and close at 12noon 05 August, or when the total number of slots are taken, which ever comes first.
