This session will be a practical look at how AI is affecting the work of authors. We’ll look briefly at current realities, then focus on steps to protect your work, and tools to implement today. Authors will come away from this session with an understanding of the impact of AI on their work and the book market, and increased confidence in navigating best practice, contract considerations and copyright in the face of this new technology.
Karen Workman is a familiar friend to NZSA members through the Creative Rights for Creative People workshops. She has worked for Tāwhia Copyright Aotearoa (formerly Copyright Licensing NZ) as the Education manager since 2021, delivering engaging workshops about copyright for creative practitioners around the country. Karen can often be found at galleries, shows and coffee shops, writing in her notebook, reading, taking photos and, most privileged of all, catching up with interesting people.
