National Poetry Day Competition – Space and Time Poetry (Wanaka)

Space and Time Poetry Competition for Children
It’s time to celebrate poetry with Wanaka Library! Writing a poem is so much fun and getting involved is super easy. If you are aged between 5-12yrs, then get writing. All poems should be based on the theme Space and or Time and just to make it a little more challenging see if you can do it in 25 lines or less. Once you’ve written your poem submit it to Wanaka Library via email, snail mail or just hand it in to the extremely friendly librarians.

Entry Details: This free to enter competition is open to children in the Wanaka community who are 5-12 years old. Enter in one of two age groups, 5-8 years and 9-12 years. Submit your entry via email or hand it in to staff at Wanaka Library on an A4 sheet of paper. Poems must be original works, 25 lines or less and just the one entry per person. Put your name, age and contact details on the back of your entry. Please note that poems may be used in marketing and promotional activities during and after the competition.

Submission Dates: July 25th – August 22nd
