Janet Frame Memorial Lecture

The aim of the Janet Frame Memorial Lecture is to deliver an overview of the “state of the nation” for literature and writing in New Zealand. The Society is keen to raise the profile of our authors and for the reading public to have a greater understanding of what it means to be a writer in New Zealand.

The inaugural Janet Frame Memorial Lecture was held in 2007 and it was fitting that Owen Marshall, who has been a supporter of the restoration of the Janet Frame house at 56 Eden Street in Oamaru, gave the lecture.

Now the lecture is delivered by the Society’s President of Honour who highlights issues relevant to their writing. Click on the title to access the lecture.
