Sam Elworthy of Auckland University Press has become the first New Zealand representative elected to the executive committee of the International Publishers Association as announced at the Frankfurt Book Fair last week. Auckland University Press announced Sam’s appointment, “Sam has played a key role in New Zealand publishing as president of the Publishers Association of New Zealand, chair of the Michael King Writers Centre and the Book Awards Governance Group, and board member of Copyright Licensing New Zealand.” The IPA is based in Geneva represents 70 organisations from 60 countries around the world.
