Majella Cullinane, our current artist in residence, will lead a writing workshop which will use artworks from our current collection-based exhibition Notes Towards a Speculative Fiction to inspire poetry and/or short fictional pieces.

Majella is a PhD candidate in Creative Practice at the Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies at Otago University.  She published her first poetry collection Guarding the Flame in 2011, and was awarded the 2014 Robert Burns Fellowship at the University of Otago. Her second poetry collection will be published by Salmon Poetry, Ireland and Otago University in 2018. Her first novel, The Life of De’Ath, which was shortlisted for the 2016 Dundee International Book Prize, will also be published next year.  She recently won the 2017 Caselburg Trust International Poetry Prize.

Only limited spots are available. Please RSVP to reception@wallaceartstrust.org.nz
