Everyone is welcome to the launch of Angus McPaw’s Monstrous Adventure, written by Deborah Brookes and illustrated by Polly Rabbits, on Friday 8 December, 5.30 – 9 pm at Nelson City Framers, 42 Halifax Street.

Local author Deborah Brookes is passionate about encouraging children to read. An avid reader from childhood herself, she always loved poetry and singing. Her youngest son has Aspergers so she is familiar with the problems that children face when reading. Her light-bulb moment came while flying over the Pacific to New Zealand, and now she has the writing bug. She likes to write fun stories that children and parents can read and enjoy together.

Angus McPaw’s Monstrous Adventure is a totally Nelson creation. Deborah is a member of Top of the South branch of NZSA. Polly Rabbits runs her business Pawprints Design & Illustration from Nelson. The book is published by Krazy Kat Publications and printed by The Copy Press, both of Nelson.
