Motueka Live Poets meet monthly on the third Wednesday at Armadillo’s Café, 122 High Street, Motueka at 7 pm. Their next meeting on Wednesday 21 August features guest poet David Merritt.
David Merritt has a broad, strong back, well suited for organic gardening, driving old Landrovers and reinventing the economics of poetry. He makes publications of poems from recycled Readers Digest Condensed book covers and banana box cardboards, often in public places, on a footpath bench seat or from the bonnet of his car. Using stamp pad alphabet sets, a stapler, glue sticks, a photocopier and a ‘copy left’ intellectual property model, Landrover Farm Press has now published over 100 distinct titles from unique single page A3 publications to collections, boxsets, #poetryracks, a #poetrybrick and anthologies.
Everyone is welcome to attend or participate. Poets and singer-songwriters can sign up on the night. Gold coin koha entry. For more information contact Maggie Brown at mzbrown@slingshot.co.nz , phone 03-9298150 or text 021-1280991.
