PROGRAMME MANAGER VACANCY
The Auckland Writers Festival is delighted to invite applications for a new, full-time Programme Manager role as part of our small and committed team in central Auckland.
The Festival is one of this country’s pre-eminent cultural events, delivering a six day, 200+ event programme with around 40 international and more than 160 New Zealanders every May. It has established an outstanding international reputation for its quality and breadth and draws attendance of more than 70,000 from around New Zealand and farther afield.
Working closely with the Festival Director and other members of the core team, you will assist in programming and producing the annual Festival, including responsibility for designated programme sessions. Associated responsibilities include: assisting with artistic administration, writer scheduling and contracting; identifying and securing grant income; and providing general production assistance.
You will be someone with event experience, preferably in a Festival or arts-related environment, and a wide knowledge of, and interest in, the world of books and writing. You will have an understanding of artistic programming concepts, demonstrate creative initiative and flair as well as an eye for detail, enjoy multi-tasking, and thrive in an open plan environment as part of a close team, bringing a collaborative style, good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a hands-on approach.
Salary range 60-70K, dependent on skills and experience. Applications close Monday 9 April.
