StylusLit is an Australian, bi-annual online literary journal, which publishes poetry, short fiction, novel excerpts, creative non-fiction, interviews and reviews in March and September.

Only previously unpublished work is accepted, that is, the work has not appeared on radio or TV, and has not been published digitally (any website) or in print. Copyright remains with the author.

Acknowledgment by the poet or author of any work first published in StylusLit would be appreciated.

By agreeing to publish in StylusLit you are agreeing to have your work archived at the National Library of Australia. (For more details see below.)

Send submissions and review enquiries to the relevant editor at info@styluslit.com. Interviews are commissioned.

International submissions are welcome.

Please send your work for the March issue in November and December, and the September issue in May and June.

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently not accepting fiction and creative non-fiction work in May and June 2018.

Work sent outside the reading periods won’t be considered and we cannot critique work that has not been accepted for publication. Please read the journal so you have an idea of what we publish.

Submissions:

All submissions need to include the author’s name and a 40 word bio. (If you have published in StylusLit before, please resend your bio.)

In the subject header of your email include the genre and the title of your piece, for example, ‘Short Story: The Girl in the Photograph’.

Poems:

• Please submit up to three (3) poems at a time. Submit only once,
• Please cut and paste poems into the body of the email,
• Use font: Times New Roman 12px, and 1.5 spacing.

Fiction or creative non-fiction:

• Please submit not more than one (1) fiction, novel excerpt or creative non-fiction piece per submission period,
• Please include title, word count and your name in the header of your attached document,
• No minimum word length. Maximum word length is 5,000 words,
• Submit as .doc or .docx file,
• Use font: Times New Roman 12px, and 1.5 spacing.

StylusLit is a non-profit organisation and is unable to pay contributors. We are open to sponsorship and donations.

PANDORA, National Library of Australia

The functions of the National Library of Australia are to build a comprehensive collection of Australian publications and to ensure that Australians have access to their documentary heritage now and in the future.

If your work is published in StylusLit you will be agreeing to have it archived by the National Library of Australia using web harvesting technology for inclusion in the Library’s web archive collection (commonly known as PANDORA, see http://pandora.nla.gov.au/). Content collected for the Library’s web archive will be made accessible in accordance with use permitted by the Copyright Act 1968, and will also be made available to the wider public through the PANDORA Archive access portal and the Library’s discovery service Trove.
