LANI WENDT YOUNG – OTAHUHU LIBRARY SEPT 24 10.30am

The New Zealand Society of Authors National Writers Forum and New Zealand Book Council Writers in Schools programme, together with Auckland Libraries, are delighted to invite your students to a very special, one-off event with celebrated author and journalist Lani Wendt Young.

Lani’s Telesa series have a strong female voice and school librarians on the ListServe recommend them particularly for helping engage with female readers. In this event, Lani will talk about her work and what inspires her.

In August, Lani was named the 2018 Pacific Laureate by the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) as part of their annual awards for authors. Her books for children and young adults will be re-issued through One Tree House, along with three new titles including a bilingual junior non-fiction book Talofa Samoa later this year and through 2019.  Her new book, Ocean’s Kiss was released in e-book two weeks ago and went to Number One in Oceania: NZ, Australia and the Pacific.
