The How and Why of Manuscript Makeovers

Come and listen to multi- award-winning writer Janice Marriott speak on ‘The How and Why of Manuscript Makeovers’.

Janice will talk about what assessments and mentoring can achieve, and describe the most frequent, and fixable, problems exhibited by her writing clients, as well as showing their successes. Questions will be welcome.

Janice has written novels, memoir, short stories and children’s books, songs, radio stories, documentaries and plays, and TV scripts for Weta Workshops. She has won the NZ Post Junior Fiction Award, Aim Senior Fiction Award, Aim Book of the Year, the Esther Glen Medal for Fiction, and was awarded the Margaret Mahy medal in 2018.

Janice runs a manuscript assessment company, Go Write Now, through which she assesses many and varied manuscripts, from picture books through to novels, poetry and all types of non-fiction, including memoirs. She also mentors writers who wish for regular feedback and develops tailor-made learning modules for them.
