The Cooney Insurance Short Story Competition 2019 is Now Open!

• The competition is organised by the Cambridge Autumn Festival, and there are great prizes to be won…
FIRST PRIZE: $1,000
SECOND PRIZE: $500
THIRD PRIZE: $250

• Word limit is 1500 words. It’s open to all ages, and entries close 31 January 2019.

• The short story must start with the words: “It started as a joke”.
NB. Stories that do not start with these words will be automatically disqualified.

• As a result of feedback from entrants we will also email entrants after the competition to announce the winning stories. Here is the time line for the competition:
We will confirm entries via email within one week of receiving them.
Entries close 11.59pm Thursday 31 January 2019 and then the judging will begin!
Winners will be notified on or before 19 March.
Winners will be awarded in Cambridge Monday 25 March.
The announcement of winners will be emailed to all entrants shortly after 25 March.
