2019 Competition
New Beginnings
The Elyne Mitchell Writing Award commemorates the celebrated author of the Silver Brumby’s life and work, and has been established to encourage all writers to focus their stories on the Australian rural landscape.
2019 Competition:
- Up to 2500 words referencing an Australasian rural experience
- 2019 Theme: ‘New Beginnings‘
- Fiction or Non-Fiction
Categories, Entry Fees, and Prizes:
- Fiction or Non-Fiction Open Category – $15 per entry- 1 x $1000 prize money
- Snowy Hydro Upper Murray Writers Category – $10 per entry – Open to residents of Towong, Snowy Valleys, Indigo, Wodonga & Albury Shires – 1 x $500 prize money
- Bonus prizes
- Open Photo Story Competition – Open to residents of Australia and New Zealand – $5 per entry – great prizes to be won

Closing date for entries – 5.00pm Thursday 22nd August 2019

How to Submit Your Entry
- Submit your entry (up to 2500 words) in a double spaced .pdf format
- Email your entry to gemma@corryongnc.org
- Include the information listed below in the covering email.
