A writer with many hats – Juggling creativity, productivity, and sanity
Presented by Rebecca Larsen
Rebecca Larsen with her new release (8 June, 2019) published by Imagination Press.
P?p?moa-based Rebecca Larsen put a call out to Tauranga Writers in 2016, when she first pitched her storybook idea to publishers. With no experience, she gained support from Jenny Argante and, after creating a storybook for her then two-year-old son, began her journey as an Author/Illustrator. Three years on and with three books to her name, Rebecca has quickly learned what it takes to produce a picture book and the effort required to promote them. Come along and hear what ‘hats’ are required to be worn when producing picture books for children. With a background in Communication Design and Advertising, Rebecca will share her experiences from the initial idea and writing process, illustration and book layout, self-publishing versus working with a publisher through to marketing and more. Bring along your ideas and questions to this open format session.
