Join us as we announce the winner of the 2020 Michael Gifkins Prize – streamed straight to your living room!
The Michael Gifkins Prize is a joint initiative between Text and the New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaitahu Aotearoa (PEN NZ) Inc, and is awarded each year to a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident for an unpublished novel.
We’ll also hear from Tom Remiger who was the winner of the 2019 Michael Gifkins Prize for his novel, SOLDIERS, which is out now.
We’ve narrowed down the entries to just three finalists – but who will take home the prize? Stay tuned to find out!
The Gifkins Prize was first awarded to Ruby Porter for her debut novel, Attraction, which was longlisted for the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards earlier this year.
The Gifkins Prize is made possible by a generous financial commitment from the Gifkins family and from Text Publishing. It is administered by the NZ Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi o Aotearoa (PEN NZ) Inc.
