Te Tauihu Short Story Awards open for entries

The New Zealand Society of Authors Top of the South Branch, in association with Wakatū Incorporation, announces the inaugural Te Tauihu Short Story Awards. This unique award offers equal prizes for the country’s two official written languages, English and Māori.

E tuwhera ana te whakataetae ki ngā kaituhi e noho ana i Aotearoa.

Te Tauihu Short Story Awards are open to all writers living in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Finalist judges are Renée, winner of the 2018 Prime Minister’s Award for Fiction, and Hana Mereraiha who worked on Te Ao Mārama with renowned New Zealand singer/songwriter, Lorde.

A prize pool worth over $4,000 had been made possible by our sponsors!

Deadline is 31 May 2022, with shortlist released in mid June and winners announced 30 June 2022.
