How to watch the Ockham NZ Book Awards ceremony LIVE on Wednesday 11 May

It’s Ockham week and here’s how to watch the Ockham NZ Book Awards ceremony LIVE on Wednesday 11 May from 7pm!

A change in venue and continued precautions around Covid have restricted our audience capacity for the much-anticipated Ockham New Zealand Book Awards this Wednesday 11 May, but there are several ways you can join the proceedings virtually on the night. A professional technical crew will be filming and livestreaming the ceremony at Auckland’s Q Theatre, and you can pick up the feed on our Facebook page and the Ockhams YouTube channel, from 7pm on Wednesday. New Zealand Book Award Trust chair Nicola Legat also reveals that a partnership with NZME will see the Ockhams livestreamed from the NZ Herald website on the night. “We’re delighted that this year’s finalists, winners and their terrific books will reach an even wider audience than usual thanks to this support from NZME.” So even if you’re not able to be in the Q Theatre on the night, dust off your ceremony glad rags, pour yourself a glass of celebratory bubbles, and tune in via one of the links below to hear your favourite authors read from their shortlisted books, and learn of the winners as soon as they are announced. And feel free to join in the online chatter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #theockhams.
