NZSA Wellington presents National Poetry Day open mic at Unity

Calling all poets: budding, established, secretive!

Join the Wellington Branch of New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi o Aotearoa on Friday 26 August from 6pm for an open mic night hosted by Unity Books! Poetry of any subject or scope and authors of any language are welcome to attend and share their work (and eat a few nibbles).

When: Monday 26 August – chat and browse from 6pm, open mic 6.30 to 7.30pm
Where: Unity Books Wellington, 57 Willis St

Feel free to join us for some chats and browsing from 6pm before we kick off the open mic from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

Register your attendance on our Facebook page, by emailing the branch, or simply sign up at the door on the night.

This year, in acknowledgement of the 25th anniversary of National Poetry Day and Indigenous Languages Decade, we have chosen the broad theme of ‘whanaungatanga’ to underpin our headlining event – an amalgamation of 2- to 3-line stanzas submitted by NZSA members in different languages that will be presented on the evening in an audio format.

We look forward to seeing you there!
