Anke Richter

Anke Richter, originally from Germany, is a foreign correspondent, columnist, freelance reporter and published author based in Lyttelton. Besides covering earthquakes or the 2019 mosque shootings, she is an international observer of cults. Her exposé about the disastrous aftermath of the sex cult Centrepoint was shortlisted for the WinTech Press Club media award and turned into two documentaries (“Angie”, “Heaven and Hell”). Her investigative and personal features are published in Die Zeit, Spiegel, FAZ, taz, New Zealand Geographic, North & South, The Spinoff, Canvas, Fair Observer and others. She has written three non-fiction books that were published in Germany.
