I'm Brett and I live in the Far North, more specifically, the Hokianga.

I had no writing experience until I picked up the pen at about age 69 to see if I could write someing vaguely creative.

I doodled away, with help from NZSA Startwrite, and produced a 100,000 word MS that I never published.

In 2024 I self-published The Danger Within, a political thriller based in Wellington. I ran into problems with Amazon's uncooperative behaviour towards Draft2digital. The short version of the story is that I withdrew the novel and have now published it on Amazon only.

And now, 2026,  I havewritten  Flood Zone, a climate change thriller set in the Coromandel.
