Caleb Harris

Kia ora,

I'm working on a novel and interested in all writing opportunities. I've had fiction published at Turbine | Kapohau and broadcast on RNZ,  and in 2019 I wrote the first draft of a novel for the MA in Creative Writing at Victoria University of Wellington.

I've been a reporter for Wellington's The Dominion Post, a subeditor on the Bristol (UK) Evening Post and a reporter, editor, radio producer and human rights project manager in Colombia. Also in Colombia, I did a Masters in Literary Studies with a thesis (featured on RNZ) proposing fiction as a tool for collective grieving. I taught English as a second language there, and before that in South Korea. I have a good level of spoken and written Spanish.

Currently, I'm a professional firefighter, father of a toddler, and working on my novel around the edges, in Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington.

I blog on special occasions at AMoonlitTramp.Wordpress.comIn 2019 my book of Spanish translations of James K. Baxter poems was launched in Wellington.
