Cristina Schumacher is a seasoned writer who knows the difference between writing for a publication and writing from inspiration. A language expert who thrives on a passion for the relationship between words and things, Cristina is capable of exploring the full power of the written word and translating this capability into practical guidance for other writers.

Between 2011 and 2021 Cristina was tutored by Storytelling theorist James McSill (https://www.mcsill.com) and became a trained storytelling consultant. She has written 33 textbooks, fiction, flash fiction and poetry books; as an author, consultant, and translator, Cristina has written over 4 million words over almost 40 years of intense words(wo)manship.

As a speaker of several languages and a multiculturally literate language consultant, for over 20 years Cristina has designed and run foreign language teaching and learning programmes, as well as language knowledge assessment processes in large Brazilian and international companies. 

From March 2021 to January 2023 Cristina acted as the Director of the Language Department of EarthDiverse, a HamiltonNZ-based Adult & Community Education (ACE) provider and not-for-profit social enterprise (https://www.earthdiverse.org.nz).
