David Briggs

David is a British-born geographer, environmental scientist, writer and poet. His academic publications include over 100 research papers, about a dozen books (as author or editor) and fifty or more other reports and book chapters. He has published four novels. The Claim, published by RedDoor Press in the UK in 2019, was long-listed for the Michael Gifkins Prize in 2018, and short-listed for the NZ Booklovers Award. His latest novel, Zarrin, was published in 2022 by RedDoor Press. Several of his poems have also been published in anthologies, and in 2015 he won a silver medal in the United Poets Laureate International competition, for his poem  Motueka, and in 2020 he published a compilation of poems and photographs, entitled Reflections, with photogrpaher JF Robert.
