David Kenrick

I'm David, an aspiring author based in Lower Hutt, but originally from a small town in the UK's North-West.

After completing my doctorate in history I've been working in the public service. As an academic I published work based on my research, which looked at settler colonialism and settler identities in the mid-twentieth century. I wrote a book, journal articles, blogs, and was a regular book reviewer for academic journals on books concerning race, imperialism, African history, and settler colonialism.

I'm now interested in publishing some fiction, not least in the hope that more people might read it. I'm not wedded to a genre, I read and write as broadly as possible and like the idea of borrowing tropes and conventions to use across genres. :D Keen to connect with other aspiring (or successful) writers in the Wellington/Lower Hutt area, to talk share ideas, swap drafts, or just geek out about writing.
