Felicity Williams

Felicity Williams works as a writer, creative director, and a composer and lyricist. She has been a recipient of numerous QE 2 Arts Council Awards, most notably the one year residency “Composer-In-Schools,” where she first collaborated with Margaret Mahy on several children’s operettas, including “The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate,” and “Jam.” The residency kick-started her interest into using children’s play patterns as the basis of new media projects, in particular “The Dress-Up Box.” Funded by NZ On Air and screening on TV3 "The Dress-Up Box" reviewed as “visually brilliant” and the series has played on screen in New Zealand around 1999 – 2004, and was both finalist and winner in the NZ and Qantas television awards. She attended a two day film summit in Los Angeles in 2010 and has had projects in development with media companies in the UK and the USA. She has two educational drama resources for children published by User Friendly Resources, “Who Is Hiding Under The Bridge And Are You Afraid To Look?” and “Are You Invited To Ms Ladybird’s Tea Party.” Felicity's first novel, for 8-12 yr olds, 'Ringlet and the Day the Oceans Stopped' was published in 2019 by The Cuba Press.
