Finn Williams

Ever since I was a young boy I've had a love for writing and the art of storytelling in all of its forms and have spent most of my life feeding that love and honing my skills.

I am a Bachelor of Communications graduate from Massey University, majoring in Expressive Arts and Media Studies and minoring in Journalism. My time in university allowed me to further my writing skills in fiction, creative-non fiction, academic writing and journalism. As well as this it also gave me experience working in many other storytelling mediums like photography, filmmaking, animation, audio productions and radio, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have had multiple pieces of flash fiction published on Flash Frontier, had pieces of creative non-fiction published in Headland and Massive Magazine and had a short story published as part of the Sci-fi horror collection Ship of Horrors

For two years I worked as Multimedia Journalist for my hometown newspaper, the Whanganui Chronicle, where I reported on a wide range of issues and events concerning the residents of the Whanganui, Ruapehu, Rangitikei and South Taranaki districts. These stories ranged from weather reports, election coverage, community developments and more oddball stuff like getting a firsthand experience on what it is like being a professional wrestler. As well as this I wrote occasional opinion pieces on the issues concerning me such as the rise of AI generated 'art' and my detestment of it.

Now as well as keeping up with writing projects, including short stories and my ongoing novel project, which I am hoping to submit for publication in the next year, I am looking to pass my skills and passion on to the next generation as I begin my new career as a Kaiako of English at Central Hawkes Bay College in Waipukurau.
