I am a freelance writer, mainly writing travel stories.  Because I spend several months of the year living in my motorhome I am a frequent contributor to Motorhomes, Caravans and Destinations  Magazine.  I have also been  published in Wilderness Magazine, the NZ Listener, and several UK, US and Australian magazines. I have had three books published:  Art Works - a book for teachers,  The Crazy Idea, a picture book and Voyage of the Ika Roa, a travel memoir.

Art Works

Art Works is a book for teachers, providing a range of ideas and techniques they can use in planning their art programmes. It is set out like a recipe book and illustrated in colour.

The Crazy Idea

A picture book about a boy called Dylan who would like to be a cat.

Voyage of the Ika Roa

Voyage of the Ika Roa tells how I, together with my then husband, built a boat and sailed from England to New Zealand. With no boat building or sailing experience we set to and built Ika Roa, a catamaran. Once afloat, their voyage took us to Spain and Portugal, then across the Atlantic. By the time we arrived in the Caribbean we were seasoned sailors. While cruising the Pacific I became fascinated by Polynesian history and the islander's way of life. Friendships among the cruising community and with locals enriched the journey.

Lost

Lost is a chapter book for 8-12 year-olds, set in the 1860s. It tells the story of three orphaned siblings and thei adventures in Australia and New Zealand.

Timepiece

Timepiece is a time slip story and is a sequel to Lost. Researching her family tree, Zoe becomes fascinated by what she discovers. Transported back to 1868, Zoe meets Kate and experiences pioneer life first hand before returning to her own time.
