Children see the world differently.
They wonder where the moon disappears to each morning. They believe gardens can be magical, animals have important things to say, and that the smallest adventure can become the biggest story. Somewhere along the way, many of us forget how to see the world through those curious eyes.
That's why I write.
I believe stories do more than entertain. They help children discover courage, kindness, resilience, imagination, and the confidence to ask, "What if?" Long after the final page is turned, the best stories leave behind ideas that continue to grow.
As both the author and illustrator of my books, I have the privilege of building entire worlds from a single spark of imagination. Every character, every landscape, and every page begins with a simple sketch and the hope that it will inspire a child to laugh, dream, wonder, or simply ask one more question.
Originally from South Africa and now living in Auckland, New Zealand, my creative journey has always been driven by a love of storytelling. Whether through words, illustrations, or music, my goal has remained the same; to create experiences that families can enjoy together and memories that children will carry with them for years to come.
I don't believe books should simply fill a bookshelf.
I believe they should fill a child's imagination.
Because today's bedtime story may become tomorrow's dream, tomorrow's invention, or the beginning of a lifelong love of reading.
If one of my books encourages a child to look a little closer, imagine a little further, or believe a little more deeply in what is possible, then it has done exactly what it was meant to do.
