Ruth E. Helmling

Ruth E. Helmling is a journalist who's passion for the sea has been taking her to all ends of the world and in 2013 to New Zealand. At present she more often navigates commercial vessels across the ocean than working on her writer's career. Whenever the sea does return her to the shores of Tairawhiti, she swaps charts and compass for pen and paper (or a surf board). Originally publishing economic reports for some of the world's best newspapers such as German DIE ZEIT, she now focusses on Children's stories, picture books and cartoons. Several of her articles have been republished in books.
