John Raeburn

John Raeburn has a PhD in psychology, and retired in 2006 after 33 years as an academic in the health area at the University of Auckland. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in Public Health at AUT University. He lives in Devonport. He has been awarded a QSO for community service. He is author (with Irving Rootman of Canada) of the academic book "People-Centred Health Promotion", and of about 80 academic papers. He has two current book writing projects: "The Spiritual Impulse", which is a look at the phenomenon of spirituality in the 21st century, and "No Barrier", based on spending time in the wilds of Great Barrier Island.
